Our sourcing locations benefit from the best light and pristine quality seawater. This powerful natural combination promotes diversity of marine life and guarantees the finest quality seaweed. In Denmark, FLOEWE is harvested in the protected, clean waters of the North Sea near the Odsherred peninsula.
In France, we harvest in the Atlantic Ocean, the most nutrient-stable ocean in the world. Our seaweed grows wild in a nature reserve protected by the European regulation NATURA 2000. We want to preserve the ocean ecosystem and the rich seaweed it produces, we are committed to respecting the highest environmental standards, which includes a long-term maintenance plan.

We have established strong partnerships with expert fishermen and growers who specialize in seaweed. Their respect and knowledge of the shores ensures a premium product that is:

Our wild seaweed is harvested by professional fishermen during high tides.
They have been trained in the use of ancestral techniques and it has been said, they “garden” the sea. Their skills allow them to harvest with scissors and without uprooting, a method that ensures optimal renewal of the resource.
Each year, the Regional Fisheries Committee of Brittany issues us a license to harvest seaweed from the shore by group and within allocated areas. This helps us limit harvesting according to resources.
We are committed to transparency, and to building relationships based on trust with customers and partners alike. This is why we believe in full traceability of all our products.
